There are two great reasons to choose this community: the medical community and the larger community of West Texas. It is a 103,000 metro population city in West-central Texas. It is approximately 130 miles from Midland-Odessa and 90 miles from Abilene. Three lakes frame the city to the west and beautiful rivers course through the town. Many people note that the city enjoys the best of both worlds -- it is large enough to have all the amenities you expect and more in a city, and it is small enough to be a great place to raise a family. The community does not have all the stress and trouble usually associated with a larger city; commutes are short; the crime rate is low; and the people are friendly.
Fort Concho National Historic Lankmark is the best-preserved Indian Wars fort in the nation. A nationally famous art museum, a city orchestra and chorale, the oldest civic theatre in Texas, a civic ballet company, historic Concho Street and the world's most diverse collection of water lilies are just some of the many cultural amenities that will enrich the lives of you and your family
Hunting and fishing opportunities attract people from around the nation.
